Romance philology
Romani philology is the linguistic and literary studies ( philology ) that deals with Romani , the language of the Roma (also called Romani in German-speaking countries).
Among other things, she researches the origins and dialects of Romani and examines their interactions with other languages such as Calo from Spain and Anglo-Romani from Great Britain .
Beginnings and history
A first known treatise on the Roma language dates from 1547. From 1844 to 1926, various important standard works on Romani were published in which, for example, the distinction between two basic dialects was made, which is still valid today .
