Romano Spadaro

Romano Spadaro (born October 26, 1948 ) is a Swiss manager and former sports official.

Life

After studying at the University of St. Gallen , he worked for Xerox , responsible for marketing and sales . From 1986 to 1994 he was head of the Swiss subsidiary of Iveco . From 1994 to 2000 he headed the Swiss holding company for Integrated Service Solutions . In the middle of 2000 he returned to Iveco and worked for Iveco Switzerland and Iveco Austria. In November 2000 he was appointed to the board of the German subsidiary of Iveco, responsible for sales in Germany and export. Spadaro was named "Manager of the Year" by Iveco in 2004. In 2007 he switched to the international strategy consultancy Polar Group as a partner and founded his own consulting company. In April 2011 bankruptcy proceedings were opened against Spadaro after the EHC Kloten filed a lawsuit after a failed capital increase. In September 2011, his partnership with Polar Group ended. In June 2012 the bankruptcy proceedings were closed.

Spadaro is married and has three children. He lives in Lufingen .

Sports official

From 1994 to 1999 Spadaro was President of the Grasshopper Club Zurich football club . Spadaro played a key role in the Grasshoppers IPO.

In December 2008 Spadaro was appointed to the board of directors of the ice hockey club EHC Kloten in order to attract new investors. In December 2010, he resigned for health reasons. Later it became known that a failed capital increase was decisive for the resignation.
