Rome plow

Rome plow was the name of an armored bulldozer of the US military that was used in South Vietnam during the Vietnam War . It was equipped with a special blade weighing more than two tons to cut trees and the dense vegetation of the jungle so that the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese troops could not use it as a hiding place or retreat. It was first used in 1967. With all the equipment, the weight of a Rome plow was over 16 tons.

The name Rome plow comes from the city of Rome in the US state of Georgia . The manufacturer of the tracked vehicle , the Rome Plow Company , was once located here.
