Romeo Island is an island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located 5.5 km southwest of Table Island .

The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1961 after the British sealer Romeo from London under Captain James Johnson, who operated in the waters around the South Shetland Islands between 1821 and 1822 and was wrecked in nearby Clothier Harbor in March 1822 .
