The name is mainly used in the English, Spanish and Welsh-speaking areas and denotes, among other things, a city in Andalusian Spain. In Welsh, Ronda means good spear , because it is formed from the elements "Rhon" for spear and "da" for good .
In southern Germany the name is derived from Rondra ; this is considered the little sister of the goddess of struggle and courage. Ronda is said to date from around 1457 and first appeared in Nuremberg.
