Rondat followed by a jump on a thick mat

The rondat , also known as the wheel turn , is an element in floor exercise .

The Rondat has many similarities to the Radschlag , but it is executed as a substitute. After a short run-up, the hands are placed on the floor and the body swung up into the side handstand. To the side means a 38 turn to start up. In the handstand the legs are closed, the lower body performs another 18 turn. Then the legs are brought down together "like a whip" and the upper body is simultaneously pressed and straightened until the stand is reached. In total, the gymnast has performed half a turn.

Most of the time, the rondat is performed as an introduction to a flickflack .
