Rose of Sebnitz
" Rose von Sebnitz " is the name of a bus and coach .
The name "Rose von Sebnitz" goes back to a number of buses in Sebnitz , which were named after flowers, as a reference to the artificial flower handicraft in Sebnitz . These are “Flower of Sebnitz” (commissioned in 1933), “Forget-me-not” (1935), “Rose of Sebnitz” (1955). In its current form, the bus is based on the second “Rose von Sebnitz” that operated in the 1970s.
Today's "Rose von Sebnitz" ("Rose von Sebnitz II") is a historic touring coach that is used by the regional traffic Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains (RVSOE) for representative purposes in Saxon Switzerland .
The Fleischer S5 RU bus was built in 1987 by Fritz Fleischer KG in Gera and operated in Greifswald until 1999 . In 2003 it was bought by the then Upper Elbian Transport Company Pirna-Sebnitz (OVPS) and reconstructed for around 74,000 euros. It was first used in 2003 as part of the Saxon Day.
Based on the name, the city railway of Saxony named the Desiro railcar 642 after a special trip in 2011 346 to the name "Rose von Sebnitz 2.0".
