Rosemarie Zens (* 1944 in Bad Polzin / Pomerania) is a German writer and photographer.

Life

Rosemarie Zens spent her youth in Bochum. From 1964 to 1967 she studied biology, history and English at the Universities of Münster and Munich and then worked from 1967 to 1972 as a teacher in Munich, Berkeley (California) and Düsseldorf. During internships and courses in Düsseldorf, she trained as a Montessori teacher. After the birth of two children, she studied at the Munich Psychoanalytic Institute for Doctors and Teachers. In 1981 she took up a second degree in modern German literary studies, which she completed in 1989 with a doctorate on a thesis critical of language and science on the late work of Wilhelm Raabe. After completing a psychoanalytic training in Zurich (Daseinsanalysis), she worked as a psychotherapist in her own practice and published scientific papers.

Since 1995 she has published poems, short prose and essays in literary magazines, individual volumes and audio books. Photographic works have been presented in exhibitions since 2008 and have appeared in books. Rosemarie Zens lives in Berlin.
