Rostock city run

The Rostock City Run (current name Rostock E.ON City Run after the main sponsor E.ON SE ) is a running event that has been held annually in Rostock in May since 1993 . The organizer is Rostocker Citylauf eV. The run is marketed by the Rostock event agency PRO EVENT. In addition to a half marathon , a 3 km trial run, a 6 km fun run, a 10 km fun run and a 5 × 3 km relay are currently offered. A handbiker competition is also on the program.

The route is a three-kilometer circuit in the center of Rostock. Start and finish is at the town hall , from there it goes along the stone gate and the rose garden on August-Bebel-Straße and from there past the Kröpeliner Tor onto Lange Straße. After a loop through the pedestrian zone, it goes past the Marienkirche to the starting point.

The rock band CITY has a patronage. The band members are also honorary members of the Rostocker Citylauf eV

In 2007, the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Athletics Association held the state championship in the half marathon as part of the Rostock City Run.
