The Red Colony is a former workers' settlement in Troisdorf-West , Troisdorf . It was created in 1912, shortly after the Cologne entrepreneur Louis Mannstaedt relocated his rolling mill from Kalk , now a district of Cologne, to the ironworks of Sieg-Rheinischen-Hütten AG in Troisdorf. The name "Neu Kalk" did not catch on. Other settlements were the Black Colony and the Casino Colony.
