The Rouen Huskies are a baseball and softball team from Rouen , the capital of Normandy . The club was founded in 1976 and is one of the most successful French baseball clubs with 13 championship titles in the Elite division .

history

The Rouen Huskies were founded in March 1976 by Pierre Yves Rolland, Xavier Rolland, Marcel Brihiez and Charles Michel Do Marcolino. Xavier Rolland was the club's first president. After the club suffered from financial difficulties in the first few years due to a lack of sponsors and could only celebrate few successes in sport, a long period of success began in 2001 under the new manager Sylvain Virey and with a newly established squad. In 2003, the team celebrated its first championship title in the Elite division and has since played at the top of the French league without interruption. Between 2005 and 2017, the Rouen Huskies won the French championship without exception (2014). In 2016, the team was also able to win the CEB Cup and thus qualify for the CEB European Cup , the highest European club cup in baseball.
