Rouhollah Dadashi

Rouhollah Dadashi ( Persian روح‌الله داداشی; * January 24, 1982 in Karaj ; † July 17, 2011 ibid) was an Iranian powerlifter , bodybuilder and strongman who took part in international strongman competitions for Iran.

Career

He took part in the Iran's Strongest Man competition five times , each time reaching the final round and twice (2009 and 2010) emerged as the winner.

Dadashi was stabbed to death on July 17, 2011 during an altercation that began as a dispute with a driver and his passengers. Police arrested two of the killers in Karaj city on July 17. The third party involved, and the main culprit, was arrested the next day when he tried to flee the city.

Several thousand people attended Dadashi's funeral service. He was buried in Karaj on July 18, 2011.

One of the perpetrators, Alireza Molla-Soltani, was publicly hanged in late September 2011. Because he was a minor at the time of his death, the execution was heavily criticized.
