biography
The producer duo "Mach II" recorded a disco medley in 1985 as "Round One" in the Cologne "On Line Records" studios . It used two songs from the Rocky - Soundtrack , Gonna Fly Now and Eye of the Tiger by Survivor . With the exception of the vocal tracks, the two played all instrumental parts themselves. The mix was called Theme from Rocky . The single was presented on the legendary TV show "Formula One" as the highest chart newcomer (52nd place) and shortly afterwards reached top 10 positions in Germany (highest ranking: 4), Austria and Switzerland . In addition to its gold status, it also conquered position 12 in the German top 100 annual sales charts.
In the same year, the follow-up single was released, a cover version of the play In Zaire by Johnny Wakelin , which made it into the German and Austrian Top 20 and the Swiss Top 10. The single Dance to the Music , a cover version of Sly & the Family Stone, followed two years later, but it was unsuccessful. There were no further publications of Round One.
