The Rowman & Littlefield Publishing Group, Inc. is an American scientific book and magazine publishing house focusing on humanistic studies and social sciences. It was founded in Lanham , Maryland in 1949 by Walter Rowman and Arthur W. Littlefield . Additional offices and distribution centers are located in the United States and the United Kingdom. He has several imprints , an expression of word marks in the publishing industry. The current President and CEO is Jed Lyons . The publisher has cooperated in the past u. a. with the American Council on Education, the American Association for State and Local History, the American Foreign Policy Council, the Smithsonian Institution , the Center for Strategic and International Studies, and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum .
