The Royal Montreal Golf Club ( French Club de Golf Royal Montréal ) is the oldest golf club in North America. It is located on the Île Bizard in the Canadian city ​​of Montreal and was founded in 1873. The club area has three golf courses in parkland, two with 18 holes and one with nine holes.

The golf club was founded in 1873 by a group of business people around the Scottish immigrant Alexander Dennistoun. Nine years later, Queen Victoria gave the club permission to use the addition Royal . The first 9-hole golf course was on the outskirts of the city on Fletcher's Field, part of the Parc du Mont-Royal . In 1896 the club moved to the suburb of Dorval . The ongoing urbanization resulted in another move six decades later; the former clubhouse is now used by a school.

The golf club has been at its current location since 1959, in the center of the Île Bizard . The American golf architect Dick Wilson laid out three golf courses with 45 holes (Blue Course, Red Course, Dixie Course). The demanding Blue Course is one of the "100 best golf courses in the world".

In 1895 the Royal Montreal Golf Club was one of five founding members of Golf Canada , the Canadian golf association. The RBC Canadian Open , which is part of the PGA Tour , has taken place on the club premises nine times . In 2007 the Presidents Cup was also held here .
