Rubén Carrerou

Rubén Carrerou (* 1920 ) is a former Uruguayan athlete .

Career

Carrerou was active in the hammer throw discipline . His personal best was on October 5, 1946, when he achieved a distance of 51.61 meters in the competition in Montevideo . For the 1948 Olympic Games in London , the Carrerou , which at that time belonged to Club Atlético Atenas , was included in a preselection, but ultimately did not make it into the Olympic squad.

At the unofficial South American Championships in 1950, he won the hammer throw competition with a width of 50.29 meters in front of the Chilean Edmundo Zúñiga and his compatriot Enrique Vázquez . He also took part with the Uruguayan team in the 1951 Pan American Games in Buenos Aires .
