The Rubbermaids was a punk rock band from Hamburg founded in 1986 . She was distinguished by her polyphonic choral singing.

history

The original line-up of the Rubbermaids consisted of Birgit Frehse (vocals), Minne (guitar), Matzy Hagenah (guitar), Hardy Rose (bass) and DynaMeik Dobbratz (drums). Bassist Hardy Rose was replaced by Thomas Zabel in 1988. In 1989 the singer Birgit Frehse quit and Gagu took over the microphone, while Thomas Zabel handed over the bass to Jason Scott. In 1992 Matzy Hagenah left the band.

The Rubbermaids were the opening act for Die Toten Hosen on their Learning English Tour in Hamburg and Bremen in 1992 . In 1994 the band broke up.

In 2003 members of Slime and the Rubbermaids founded the band Rubberslime . Jason Scott and Meik Dobbratz play in the band world level today , Matzy Hagenah plays a. a. at Hulapunk . Gagu released an album of the same name on Sony Records in 1996 as well as albums, singles and sampler contributions with his band Gigantor .
