Rubha Glas is a cape on the south coast of the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay . Together with Cape Rubha a 'Chuinnlein a few hundred meters to the south, Rubha Glas marks the entrance to the bay of Loch Leòdamais . Large parts of Rubha Glas are built on with buildings from the Port Ellen settlement founded in 1821 . On the south coast of the headland are two piers from the 18th and 19th centuries. In addition, the concrete pier of the ferry that connects Post Ellen with the Kennacraig ferry port on the Kintyre peninsula is located at the tip of Rubha Glas. With the buildings at School Street 31–35, there is a listed group of residential buildings on Rubha Glas . The cape protrudes about 200 m from the island's land mass in a south-south-westerly direction.
