history

The company was founded in 1960 by Rudolf Hörmann as a manufacturer of sliding grilles for dairy cows. In the course of time, the business areas were enlarged and today range from stable construction, stable equipment, commercial and industrial construction to photovoltaic technology.

Initially, the production was located right next to the company's founder's apartment. In the course of the following years the company grew and moved to Buchloe in 1964. At first, only barn equipment was manufactured there, later the dairy barn division was added. In 1964 the first stable was built under the direction. In 1979 the company had 70 employees. In the same year Rudolf Hörmann senior had a fatal accident in a car. The company was continued by his wife Centa Hörmann and Erwin Beutlrock, and Rolf Hörmann later joined the company.

In order to have a presence abroad, the company Lugmair Interstall in Austria was taken over in 1996 and the sales force network was established and expanded in other countries. Photovoltaic technology became a business area in 2003. The number of employees increased from 100 (1995), to 230 (2003) and later to approx. 600 (2011). In 2011 the company employed 38 trainees in a wide variety of professions.

Divisions

Hörmann plans, builds and looks after: Commercial and industrial buildings, riding facilities, stables and agricultural halls. Photovoltaic systems are also part of the portfolio.

Commercial & industrial construction

Hörmann has been a specialist in hall construction for more than 60 years. In the commercial & industrial construction division, the company designs, plans, produces, assembles and builds halls in F30 construction without any requirements for fire protection with integrated office and social areas.

Bulk goods, disposal & recycling

In the bulk material, disposal & recycling division, the company designs, plans, produces, assembles and builds: pent roof halls, saddle roof halls, arched halls and standardized lightweight halls.

Equestrian sport

In the equestrian division, the company designs, plans, produces, assembles and builds riding arenas, horse stables, horse stalls, open stables, lunging halls, mobile lightweight construction systems and entire riding facilities.

Stable construction

In the stable construction division, the company designs, plans, produces, assembles and builds: dairy cattle stalls, cattle stalls, pig stalls, poultry stalls, goat stalls or even simple roofs.

Hörmann is one of the leading experts in the agricultural construction sector, especially when it comes to complete solutions for your cattle barn. In addition, Hörmann implements the entire stable, from the foundation to the superstructure, the roof covering, the light-air ridge, the manure removal, the doors, the stable equipment, possibly the photovoltaic systems to the appropriate auxiliary building.

Agricultural halls

In the agricultural halls division, the company designs, plans, produces, assembles and builds: machine halls, bulk goods halls, fruit and vegetable halls and hay and salvage halls.

Photovoltaics

In the photovoltaics division, the company designs, plans and installs photovoltaic systems. Of the 600 construction projects that Hörmann builds every year, the company equips 80% with PV systems. Photovoltaic modules generate completely clean energy and produce many times the energy required for their production.
