Rudolf Scharinger

Rudolf Scharinger (born November 25, 1965 ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). He has been mayor of the Upper Austrian city ​​of Traun since November 2015 .

Life

He made his Matura at a technical college . He then joined the grandparents' electronics store, which he headed as managing director from 1991.

Rudolf Scharinger is married and has two children.

Political career

Rudolf Scharinger had been a member of the Trauner Municipal Council since 2009, as of 2013 as Vice Mayor. After the mayor Harald Seidl (SPÖ) no longer stood for election, Scharinger was elected as the new mayor in a runoff election in October 2015 with 66.74 percent of the valid votes. He took office in November 2015.

As mayor, he is also chairman of the SPÖ city party.
