Kvilleken (2010)

The Rumskullaeken (after the village of Rumskulla ) or Kvilleken (after the hamlet of Norra Kvill ) is an English oak near the Norra Kvill National Park in Småland in Sweden . Their age is estimated to be 900 to over 1000 years.

With a circumference of 13 to 14.75 meters at chest height, the Kvilleken is the oldest and largest tree in Sweden and one of the, if not the thickest oak in Europe . Half of the trunk is dead. This part is attached to the rest of the trunk with ropes. The area directly around the tree is fenced.

The Kvilleken was first mentioned in writing in 1772 by Magnus Gabriel Craelius in the book Försök till ett landskaps beskrivning .

The Runkesten in Rumskulla is considered to be one of the largest rocking stones in the world.
