Runaway Mine Train in Six Flags Over Texas ( Arlington , Texas , USA ) is a mine - steel roller coaster model Mine Train from the manufacturer Arrow Dynamics , which was opened in August 1966 under the name Run-A-Way Mine Train . From 1996 it drove under the name Mine Train until it was later renamed to its current name.

It is the first mine rollercoaster of its kind and also one of the manufacturer's first roller coasters, as well as the manufacturer's first mine rollercoaster. In addition, it is the first roller coaster designed by Ron Toomer .

The 757 m long route reaches a height of 11 m and has three chain lift pits and two tunnels .
