history

The Waiblingen circular sports hall was built between 1971 and 1973.

Asbestos removal was carried out in the 1990s.

In 2009 the hall ceiling had to be dismantled as it was identified as a fire load.

From 2017 to 2018 the hall was renewed by the city of Waiblingen for around 4.3 million euros. The striking red exterior cladding was replaced by a new, gray-silver cladding. In the meantime, gaming operations had to be outsourced to the Staufer school center. After a year and a half of renovation, the first home game was played in the Waiblinger Rundsporthalle on October 20, 2018.
