Runic inscription U 265
The rune inscription U 265 ( Swedish runhäll - rune plate) is located on the low steep face of an outcrop near Ekeby Farm in the Fresta socken near Väsby in Uppland in Sweden , on a forest road next to an old house and a cellar.
Runic inscriptions on rocks are a form concentrated on Uppland (U 146, U 163, U 360 and U 497), which is very rare in the rest of Sweden (Sö 359). In Uppland, the verb to beat is used more often for applications on rocks, while otherwise (on rune stones ) it is referred to as scratching .
A well-preserved text in a snake ribbon surrounds a complex, complex drawing that is reminiscent of U 163. The text reads: Ärenvi had this plate scratched after Elev, his good son.
Nearby, by the mill, there is a second runic plate, runic inscription U 266 , which is in poorer condition. None of the inscriptions names the rune master .
