Ålgård runestone

The Runestone Ålgård stands at Lilandsveien northeast of Hauge i Dalane (Municipality Sokndal ) in Fylke Rogaland in Norway .

The rune stone is 1.75 meters high and has a base of 40 × 20 cm. It tapers slightly towards the rounded tip. The slightly crooked stone is part of a fence that encloses a plot of land. It is dated to AD 800–900. No other artifacts are known from his environment .

The runic inscription in Younger Futhark goes from bottom to top along a flat side of the rune stone. The length of the inscription is about 1.0 meter and ends about 25 cm from the top. The runes are about 10 cm high. The inscription, the beginning of which is eroded with the name, reads: "... erected this stone".
