Russell Soaba

Russell Soaba (born July 5, 1950 in Tototo , Milne Bay Province , Papua New Guinea ) is a writer from Papua New Guinea, who is widely considered to be one of the most important writers and the most important living author in his country. He works as a novelist and poet .

Live and act

Russell Soaba first studied at the University of Papua New Guinea before continuing his studies in the USA ( Brown University , Rhode Island ) and in Australia . He has published an extensive literary work for his home country and is still professor of literature at the University of Papua. He belongs to the Anuki people .
