Russkoje Bogatsvo ( Russian Русское богатство , Russian wealth ' ) was a Russian literary and science magazine that appeared monthly from 1876 to mid-1918.

The magazine was founded as a scientific publication. From 1876 to 1878 it was published three times a month under the name Magazin für Handel, Industrie, Landwirtschaft und Naturkunde ( Russian Журнал торговли, промышленности, земледелия и естествознания ). After a break of several months, the magazine was reissued as a monthly magazine in March 1879. After another change of ownership in 1880, it was given the name Russkoje Bogatstvo . Since then, it has been regarded as the organ of the liberal folklore and has also recorded literary works by authors such as Vsevolod Garschin and Gleb Uspensky . However, due to financial problems, the magazine was soon discontinued. It was printed again from 1883 to 1891, this time with the writer and publicist Leonid Obolenski as editor-in-chief. During this period Russkoye Bogatstvo was the mouthpiece of the Russian liberals .

In 1892 the newspaper became again an organ of the popularists. Sergei Kriwenko and Nikolai Michailowski were the editors of the magazine at the time, in which Vladimir Korolenko , Nikolai Garin-Michailowski and the young Maxim Gorki published, among others . Politically, the reconciliation with the tsarist government and the renunciation of any revolutionary struggle against it was propagated. In addition, the magazine waged a fight against Marxism in its articles .

After the Russian Revolution of 1905 , Korolenko took over the post of editor. During this time, the magazine was increasingly regarded as liberal again and was banned from state censorship for several months in 1906. In the 1910s, the editorial team supported Russia's participation in World War I and expressed its rejection of the Bolshevik Revolution , which is why the magazine was closed by the state power in 1918 after the political upheaval in Russia.
