Her textile works, created almost exclusively on the high loom, mainly include tapestries ( tapestries ) for public and private buildings and paraments for pulpit and altar as well as watercolors . Coming from painting, Ruth Baumann-Bantel tries to convert landscape motifs into web-friendly structures in her often room-high tapestries and to incorporate the haptic charms of wool, coarse / fine, into the composition of the picture. In doing so, she suggests with artistic means such as the central perspective, for example, the breadth of a plain or the gradation of mountains and does not shy away from using a repoussoir as a space-creating element. The warm, often bright colors play an essential role in the artistic realization. The tapestries of the last creative years are determined by geometrical-constructive forms such as square and rectangle, horizontal and diagonal.
