Rylene dyes

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The first homologous rylene dyes and a diimide derivative (R denotes a residual group)

As rylene dyes is referred to the homologous series of in peri fused position naphthalene molecules. Two condensed naphthalenes give perylene , three terrylene, four quaterrylene.

Because of their high photostability and the high fluorescence quantum yield , these dyes are of particular interest for single-molecule spectroscopic investigations. Besides doped Terrylene p terphenyl are in this case particularly with mono imide of rylene dye doped polymer films and diimide derivatives used -.
