The Sächsische Energieagentur - SAENA GmbH (SAENA) is the energy agency of the State of Saxony and the Sächsische Aufbaubank - Förderbank -. It is intended to serve as a competence and advice center on the topics of renewable energies , sustainable energy supply and energy efficiency . The Saxon Energy Agency was founded on June 20, 2007. The shareholders are the Free State of Saxony , represented by the Saxon State Ministry of Finance and the Sächsische Aufbaubank - Förderbank . The managing directors are Christian Micksch and Babette Böhme. The agency is based in Dresden .

Fields of work

The agency's fields of work are divided into the following areas:

  • Increasing energy efficiency responsible for the municipalities, companies, agriculture, churches, mobility, construction / buildings and consumers / households departments

The tasks of the SAENA are:

  • Strategy development, initiation and support of model and joint projects in the field of energy efficiency and a sustainable energy supply
  • Support for applicants in the run-up to the allocation of funding in the field of energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy
  • Establishment of networks to exchange experiences and increase the flow of information in the target groups
  • Development of further training programs and public relations work on the rational use of energy, especially in companies, in the construction sector, in the craft sector and in the service sector

Projects and activities

The projects initiated include the “Saxon Commercial Energy Pass” and the campaign for more energy efficiency in building and renovation “Join in. Sustainable construction. ”SAENA is the project control center for the Saxon model region of electromobility and, together with the Bavarian state government, designs the showcase project“ Electromobility connects ”. In addition, SAENA runs three traveling exhibitions on the subject of electromobility, energy-efficient refurbishment and passive houses. In addition, guides and various specialist brochures are published and regular educational programs for students and adults can be offered.

SAENA also operates an energy portal on various topics. It offers information and search options on the locations of passive houses, photovoltaic and biogas systems and particularly energy-efficient companies. Since April 2015, SENA has been operating a free network of experts with energy consultants, companies with experience in the field of highly efficient buildings and contacts in the field of electromobility.

Together with the energy agencies from Baden-Wuerttemberg, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia, SAENA has developed " Kom.EMS ", a standardized energy management system that is specialized for municipal requirements and is in charge of this in the Free State of Saxony.
