South Arabic languages

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The term South Arabic languages refers either to the New South Arabic languages still spoken today in the center and in the east of South Arabia or the extinct old South Arabic languages in the west of South Arabia, but mostly the New South Arabic languages are meant. Both Semitic language groups are not closely related to each other within Semitic, nor are they related to the Arabic language, which is mostly called " North Arabic " in this context .
