South Nilotic languages
The South Nilotic languages are a subset of the Nilotic languages , which in turn belong to the East Sudanese branch of the Nilo-Saharan language family. South Nilotic languages are spoken in western Kenya, northern Tanzania and on Mount Elgon in Uganda . They are generally divided into the two branches Kalendschin and Datooga-Omotik, whereby there are different views on the further subdivision of the Kalendschin (see also Kalendschin ).
