Sążeń

Sążeń nowopolski was a Polish measure of length. (Also for the preamble Saschen or fathoms in international literature Sazen written) are at least two different reference values for Poland known. The sążeń nowopolski (meaning: New Polish fathom ) was the valid measure of length in Congress Poland from 1819 to 1848 and was considered to be Krakow measure from 1836 (cf. Republic of Krakow ). The stopa ( feet ) referred to corresponded to 127.669 Paris lines or 0.288 meters . He replaced the sążeń staropolski ("old" Polish fathom ), which was introduced in 1764 under Russian hegemony .
