history

On May 20, 1968, the Zurich Fairy Tale and Youth Theater Association was founded. Over the past few decades, the association's objectives and name have been changed three times. For the last time in 1999 in the Association for the Promotion of Swiss Youth Culture . The original wish of the institution, founded in 1968, was the realization of its own special youth stage. A wish that remained a dream for financial reasons. In the following years, competitions for good youth theater pieces were advertised, awarded and finally performed. In addition, the association organized various activities and events in alternating cooperation, such as the children's musical König Hupedipuup , or the opening of a Märlihus in the former Karl the Great Theater and much more. The drawing competition for handicapped children in hospitals and homes throughout Switzerland also received a positive response. An action under the patronage of the Presidential Department of the City of Zurich .

today

The awarding of the fairy tale Oscar, S'Goldig Chrönli , the Swiss award for child-friendly dialect productions on sound carriers , which has been organized and carried out by the association since 1987, has been under the same patronage . In 2000, to supplement the above award, a culture sponsorship award, the sponsorship award for youth culture professionals in Switzerland, was launched.

As a prominent element in the development of cultural understanding, the classic fairy tale and its media advancements still enjoy unbroken popularity today. There is hardly a child's room that can do without fairy tale and / or video cassettes and the speed of development of media technology means that we can expect a similar boom in the field of interactive 'cultural carriers'. Good reasons to keep an eye on the nature of all these ultimately formative media products. The Association for the Promotion of Swiss Youth Culture and including the longstanding advocates and patrons from business, politics and culture still attach particular importance to the first contact with culture. Since 1987, the artistic and educational quality of children's and youth recordings has therefore been the central aspect of the association's work. In addition to a wide range of events, the association organizes, plans and monitors the Swiss awarding of the fairy tale Oscar , the professional, independent judging and awarding of Swiss children's and youth recordings. The event under the name S'Goldig Chrönli turns out to be a small media event every late autumn, at which, in addition to numerous producers, many prominent faces can be seen. In its work, the association does not see itself as the “Damocles sword of the market”, but rather as an instance of quality promotion and motivation. In particular, she intends to promote the fair by awarding the fairy tale Oscar
