S30V
S30V is a powder metallurgical knife steel .
The steel was developed by the American company Crucible Industries. It is a stainless steel that contains 1.45% carbon and 14% chromium as well as additions of 4% vanadium and 2% molybdenum . This is intended to achieve a good combination of toughness , edge retention and corrosion resistance. The variant S35VN also contains niobium .
