Lists on the subject

The SAR-21 is a bullpup-style rifle developed in Singapore and used by the country's armed forces . This means that the magazine is arranged behind the handle and the trigger.

development

The development of the rifle began in 1995 and was finally completed in 1999, after which series production began that same year. Singapore is now replacing all rifles in use with the SAR-21 family.

The magazine is transparent so that the fill level can be read at any time. An optical visor (1.5x) is built into the handle as standard. Barrels with different twist are available for the weapon. For the older M193 cartridge the pitch is 305 mm, for the newer SS109 cartridge 178 mm.

Versions

  • SAR-21: the standard rifle
  • SAR-21 GL: with grenade launcher under the barrel and external laser pointer on the left above the hand guard
  • SAR-21 P-Rail: instead of the standard optical sight, a Picatinny rail
  • SAR-21 RIS: both visor and handguard have been replaced by a Picatinny rail
  • SAR-21 Sharp Shooter: with 3-way visor
