The single piece of class NGG 14 of the South African Railways (SAR) was a steam locomotive of the type Garratt for 610-mm narrow gauge lines with particularly light superstructure. The machine delivered by Hanomag in 1928 with the serial number 10747 largely corresponded to the two locomotives of the NGG 12 class , but was somewhat larger and heavier.
The locomotive supplemented one of the two NGG 12 on the route between Fort Beaufort and Seymour . In 1940 the line was converted to Cape Gauge, and the two locomotives were put on the Upington - Kakamas line , where the second NGG 12 was already in service. In 1949 the gauging was also completed there. While the two NGG 12 were sold to a mine, the NGG 14 was moved to the Estcourt - Weenen route , where it was still in use for a few years. Eventually it was replaced by an older but more powerful NGG 11 and scrapped.
