SARCOM II
SARCOM II stands for SAR Communication System and is the mobile radio network of the German Society for Sea Rescue . It is remote controlled by the coast radio station of the DGzRS Bremen Rescue Radio (BRR).
To improve communication with the SAR units (rescue cruisers and other DGzRS units) via VHF frequencies, the DGzRS maintains SARCOM II. With SARCOM II, the DGzRS has a VHF relay radio network with a total of 23 relays in the SAR operational areas in Works across the North and Baltic Seas. VHF channel 0 (156.0 MHz) is used across the board. Most stations also work on channel 16 for this purpose. Independently of the VHF channels, BRR also communicates with the DGzRS units via border and shortwave .
