SB-LL1 (Paralympics)

SB-LL1 is a starting class for athletes in Paralympic winter sports for athletes in para snowboarding . The membership of athletes in the starting class is outlined as follows:

Snowboarders of the SB-LL1 class have significant difficulties balancing, steering the snowboard and cushioning the terrain due to impairments in the lower extremities. One of the following minimum criteria must be met:

  • severe impairment in one leg, for example an amputation in or above the knee - or
  • severe impairment in one leg, for example a stiff joint in the knee - or
  • moderate impairment in two legs, for example a bilateral amputation below the knee, in or above the ankle - or
  • clear, moderate, combined impairment in two legs, for example muscle weakness or spasticity in two legs.

The following applies:

  • prostheses must be worn in the case of amputations.
