SC Buntekuh Lübeck

The SC Buntekuh Lübeck is a German sports club from the Lübeck district of Buntekuh . The club became known for its women's handball team, which rose from the district league to the national league within nine years .

Handball department

The women from Lübeck rose to the district class in 1994 and made it through to the district league. The SC Buntekuh was also champion in the district league, but failed in the promotion round to the league. In the following season they successfully mastered the hurdle promotion round and consequently rose to the league. Two years later, the SC rose through the league championship in the regional league .

In 2001 the SC Buntekuh Lübeck was second class and won the runner-up in the first season. In the following season, the Lübeck women rose to the Bundesliga , in which they could not keep up. In the subsequent second division season, the SC took last place. After further relegations and the withdrawal of the team due to a lack of players, the SC entered the county league in the 2008/09 season and made it to the county league, where the women's team took up until the end of the 2013/14 season. Since then, SC Buntekuh has been back in the district league.
