The Sportclub Vöhringen 1893 eV is a sports club from the city of Vöhringen . It was created in October 1970 through the merger of TSV Vöhringen 1893 , Kickers Vöhringen and RSV Vöhringen . With more than 3000 members, the SCV is one of the largest associations in the Neu-Ulm district .

Departments

Handball

From the handball department of the SCV, 3 men's teams, 1 women's team, 1 AH team and several youth teams take part in the game. From 1992 to 1996 the 1st team played in the South German Regional League . After a year in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg, relegation took place in 2007. Since then, the SCV has played in the Württembergliga, even though it is a Bavarian club.

Soccer

The footballers had their heyday in the 30s to 50s as FV Kickers Vöhringen . At that time, they narrowly missed promotion to the Gauliga (at that time the highest German league) several times . After relegation from the regional league in 2005, the 1st team crashed into the regional league A 3 Iller. In 2012, he was promoted to the district league again. In the youth sector one cooperates with the FV Bellenberg .

athletics

The athletics department of the SCV has already produced several Bavarian, southern German and German champions. There were German championship titles for example in the javelin throw by G. Saegeler (M55), Erwin Nothelfer over 10,000 m, Günther Kohl over 5000 m, Alfred Rupp over 1500 m (both juniors) and for the 4 × 100 m relay of women ( W30). In 1975 Günther Kohl became German cross-country champion. Erwin Nothelfer becomes South German champion over 5000 m. Several SCV athletes also competed in international competitions for Germany.

Table tennis

Although Vöhringen is actually in Bavaria, the table tennis teams compete in the TTVWH, the table tennis association Württemberg-Hohenzollern. With five young U18 teams and one young U12 team, Vöhringen is one of the largest youth clubs in the Ulm district. In the 2019/2020 season, the club will play with a team in the national class, the second highest youth division. In addition to the U18 teams, there are also two men's teams in the red SCV dress. Thanks to the championship in the 2018/2019 season, the first men's team was able to play in the district class.

SC Vöhringen has its home in the Karl-Eychmüller-Sportpark , which in terms of size is unrivaled in the region. The sports park complex includes a triple gymnasium, ball sports hall, gymnastics hall, the Karl Eychmüller Stadium, 3 lawns, 1 archery range, 1 small plastic field, 10 tennis courts, 4 bowling alleys, 8 summer curling lanes, skateboarding facilities, 1 streetball facility, 1 beach volleyball field and a sports restaurant. The sports park is named after the former chairman of Wieland-Werke , Karl Eychmüller .
