The FV Bellenberg is a football club from the town of Bell Mountain in Bavaria . Although the FVB is from Bavaria, it belongs to the Württemberg Football Association and has two active men's teams and a women's department. In the youth work the FVB cooperates with the SC Vöhringen .
history
The club was founded in 1922 by football enthusiasts as a counterpart to ASV Bellenberg, which was founded in 1919. However, the FVB did not play its first soccer game on its own lawn until September 1923 against Kickers Vöhringen. In 1938 the merger with ASV Bellenberg took place, but even this could not prevent the end of the game operations and finally the club life after the outbreak of the Second World War . Game operations could be resumed as early as 1945. In the 1970s and 80s, the first team played regularly in the district league, in which they could be promoted again in 2007. Currently, however, they play in the district league B Donau / Iller. The women's team of the FVB caused a sensation, which at that time was playing in the top division of Württemberg. In 1980 the women even played for the DFB Cup , but just failed in the second round at TSV Hungen .
