SDSS J141530.05 + 572428.7

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

SDSS J141530.05 + 572428.7 is presumably a spectroscopic pair , consisting of an L and a T dwarf .

The identification of dwarf with spectral class T3 ± 1 was carried out by Chiu et al. (2006), whereby the uncertainty in the classification resulted from the weakness of the methane band at 2.2 μm compared to that at 1.6 μm. In a study published in 2009 by Faherty et al. the object was noticed as unusually red for the spectral type. A modeling using a composite spectrum with types L8 ± 0.5 and T5 ± 0.3 was achieved by Burgasser et al. (2010).
