SES-imagotag is a high-tech company and the world's leading provider of Electronic Shelf Labeling Systems (ESL). The company specializes in the development, manufacture and marketing of hardware and software components for electronic price labeling in retail and digital signage solutions for business and industrial applications. The portfolio includes electronic labels, software modules and the communication infrastructure.
history
The company was founded in 1992 under the name Store Electronic Systems and equipped the first stores with electronic price tags. Seven years later, more than a million labels have already been installed. In 2002 SES signed its first international contract. The IPO in Paris and new offices in Asia and Latin America followed in 2006. In 2012, Thierry Gadou became President and CEO of the company. The first labels with an integrated NFC function were developed.
In 2014 Store Electronic Systems entered into a strategic alliance with imagotag GmbH (Austria). The company changed its name to SES-imagotag.
In 2016 the group signed a contract with Jysk Nordic and the cosmetics company Sephora.
The group of companies participated in two companies: Findbox GmbH (product recognition technology) and Pervasive Displays Inc. (e-paper displays).

The portfolio includes electronic labels (Electronic Shelf Labels), software modules, the communication infrastructure and a range of accessories and fastening materials.
Branches and customers
SES-imagotag has sales offices in 13 countries: France, Austria, Germany, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Spain, America, Italy, Mexico, Singapore, Hong Kong and Sweden. Since its inception, the company has equipped more than 12,000 stores in 54 countries with a total of 150 million ESLs.
Honourings and prices
Due to investments in research and development, the group of companies has won various awards since 2012:
- LSA 2012 innovation award for the world's first supermarket equipped with NFC-enabled electronic price tags.
- LSA 2015 innovation award, for the digital shopping experience (mobile self-scanning).
- LSA 2016 innovation award for product location using electronic price tags.
