The sports community Coesfeld 06 e. V. is a German sports club from Coesfeld , which was founded in 2006. With around 3500 members and 16 departments, the association is one of the largest associations in Coesfeld.
history
The SG Coesfeld 06 was created on January 1st, 2006 through the merger of the sports clubs Rasensport Coesfeld, ESV Sportfreunde Coesfeld and TuS Coesfeld. Since then, the club has been the second largest sports club in the city behind DJK Eintracht Coesfeld .
Soccer
The football department plays a special role in the club as it is the largest with around 750 members.
Men
Both the first and the second of a total of four senior teams play in the district league A of the Ahaus-Coesfeld football district. In addition, there is an old senior, an old man and a total of 22 junior teams in all age groups.
Women
Five senior women and junior teams are currently playing, with the first senior team playing in the regional league.
To dance
The dance department with around 350 members is a special figurehead of the association. In addition to 22 popular sports groups, there are also five competitive dance groups that successfully take part in national and international competitions.
One of these successes is the German championship title of the group Bailandos at the German Open in the Luitpoldhalle in Freising. This group then won the silver medal at the European Championships in Musical and Show Dance in Villach.
karate
Athletes in the karate department also regularly take part in German championships. In recent years, many medals have been regularly won, especially on the West German level.
