The Grünauer BC was founded in 1917. The top division until 1945 was the second-rate Berlin district league, to which the GBC rose in 1935.

After the Second World War , the association was dissolved and re-established as SG Falkenberg . In the season 1945/46 Grünau took part in the qualification for the Berlin City League , but failed clearly with the penultimate place. In the period that followed, the Berliners faced several changes of name. 1948 in TSV Berlin-Bohnsdorf and from 1950 in SVgg Grünau . On a sporting level, the SVgg Grünau achieved promotion to the GDR league in the 1950/51 season . The second highest division of the GDR had to leave Grünau after only one season as the bottom of the table. In the 1952/53 season, the SVgg Grünau formed a syndicate with the remaining part of the SG Union Oberschöneweide , which had not been known as BSG Motor Oberschöneweide since the summer of 1951 and played in the Berlin state class in the 1951/52 season, and entered for one season as SpG Grünau-Union Oberschöneweide .

In the summer of 1953, both clubs parted and while SG Grünau played in 1953/54 (5th place) in the Berlin district league , SG Union Oberschöneweide (dissolved: 1972) was integrated into season A of the Berlin city class for the season 1953/54. The SG Grünau won the championship of the district league of Berlin in the 1958 season and thus rose to the 2nd GDR league . In what was then the third highest East German league, the Berliners were able to establish themselves until the 2nd GDR League was dissolved. Another name change followed, from 1962 to Lufthansa Berlin and a year later to BSG Luftfahrt Berlin .

After the reallocation of the third leagues, BSG Luftfahrt Berlin operated continuously from 1963 to 1991 in the city and later district league Berlin. The club, which returned to its historical name Grünauer BC in 1917 after the political change , was integrated into the Berlin State League. After relegations to the district league, Grünauer BC is currently playing in the Berlin district league (season 3).
