The SIGCHI ( English S pecial I nterest G roup on C omputer- H uman I nteraction ) is a topic group of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) that deals with human-computer interaction .

The most important conference series Human Factors in Computing Systems (CHI) organized by SIGCHI has existed since 1982 and takes place annually. It is the largest and most famous conference on the topic. In addition, other scientific conferences such as the MobileHCI and the Symposium on Mixed and Augmented Reality (ISMAR) are supported. She also publishes scientific journals such as the Transactions on Computer-Human Interaction .

Since 1998, SIGCHI has presented the CHI Lifetime Achievement Award every year. Douglas C. Engelbart received it for the first time for his work on hypertext , collaboration , teleconferencing and the mouse . In the following years, for example, Ben Shneiderman , Donald Norman and Bill Buxton received the award .
