SINTEF
SINTEF ( Norwegian Stiftelsen for industriell og teknisk forskning ) is an independent research organization in Norway and the largest in Scandinavia . It was founded in 1950 and has its headquarters in Trondheim . There is a close cooperation with the Technical and Natural Sciences University of Norway .
2100 people work for various departments at SINTEF. The research budget in 2014 was around 375 million euros. It is managed by Alexandra Bech Gjørv.
The main areas of activity are renewable energies and environmental technology, oil and gas production, marine technology and healthcare. Among other things, SINTEF is working on Citymobil and an osmosis power plant .
