The SKBH Swiss health insurance company for the construction and timber industry , based in Zurich, is a Swiss insurance company specializing in health insurance , daily allowance insurance and accident insurance . The core business of the health insurance fund, which is organized in the legal form of a foundation , is basic insurance under the Health Insurance Act . It has been a member company of Groupe Mutuel since 1993 .

At the end of 2007, the SKBH had around 69,450 insured persons and in 2007 achieved premium income of 242.1 million Swiss francs. Basic insurance under the Health Insurance Act forms the actual main business with a share of around 85 percent of total premium income.

The Swiss Health Insurance Fund for the Building and Wood Industry was founded as an association by the former Construction and Wood Trade Union (GBH). Under the direction of the then President, Vasco Pedrina, the collaboration with the Groupe Mutuel took place in 1993. Since then, she has taken on the administrative management. However, the SKBH is still a legally independent company. Although there is no longer any direct connection to a union, several union- related members are still represented on the Board of Trustees .
