The SK St. Magdalena is an Austrian football club from the Linz District St. Magdalena . He currently plays in the fifth-class Landesliga Ost .
The club was founded on November 18, 1948 and rose for the first time in 1976 in the then third-class Upper Austrian regional league . The biggest success these days was the 2-0 victory over the first division SK Austria Klagenfurt in the 1988 ÖFB Cup . When the Regionalliga Mitte was founded as the new third division in 1994, SK St. Magdalena missed the qualification and had to stay in the national league , which became the fourth performance level.
After the formation of a syndicate in 2003 with the second team of the Bundesliga club ASKÖ Pasching , Magdalena immediately made it to the regional league in 2004 and reached third place in 2005. On June 20, 2006, Pasching President Franz Grad surprisingly announced the dissolution of the syndicate, which meant that St. Magdalena lost her eligibility to play in the regional league. In order not to have to completely dissolve the club, the league operations have been continued since then with the original second team as the new fighting team in the seventh-class first division middle.
